How often does the comic update? Currently, pages are updated sporadically. There is no set day for new
pages to come out, but I try to be consistent in updating twice a week. If not
twice, then at least once!
Who are the people behind this comic?
Taversia is the illustrator, writer, and website administrator; AntiType is
the co-writer. AntiType does most of the writing, but it's all edited and
cleaned up by Taversia. Our writing style is perhaps a little atypical, in
that the characters in the comic are, for the most part, not a collaborative
development. What this means, is that AntiType makes up his characters, and
thus, maintains most of the control over their actions, as is the same with
Taversia, and hers. Often times, the story writes itself as we delve into a
fair bit of 'roleplay'. ;)
How long does it take to complete a page, and what is the process?
After the dialogue for each of the panels are all planned out, the
sketching/inking can take anywhere from 2-3 hours. I do this by hand.
Afterward, I scan the page into my computer and open it up in Photoshop where
the page is then colored. This can take another few hours; typically longer
than it takes to do the initial drawing. After that, the panels are cleaned up
in Microsoft Paint and then the whole page is resized. It takes roughly an
hour to lay down all of the word bubbles and text. From start to finish, I
would peg a single page to take around 6-8 hours to complete.
Is Vigana a self-insertion of Taversia, the artist?
No! Absolutely not! Nor is she an idealized version of myself. Vigana started
out as a LARP (Live Action Roleplay) character, and evolved from there. She
looks a lot like me, because I had to physically portray her while still being
realistic with regard to what I look like in real life. When I carried her
storyline over into this comic, I changed very little so as to remain true to
her roots. The only reason why she resembles me in appearance is for that very
reason alone; the manner in which she was first created. As far as
personalities go, she is pretty much as close to 'polar opposite' as can be!
Orly...? Where can I learn more?!
If you're curious to know more about Vigana as she appeared in my old LARPing
days, there is a website
with all her past information that I put together during that time. There is
no guarantee that her past story accurately reflects her past in the
comic, as much of her old story was co-written via roleplay between many other
gamers. Think of it more as a rough draft than anything else.
Why is the city in the comic called Wayward Falls when the comic
itself is named Wayward Fall?
We deliberately dropped the 'S' in the comic's title to put metaphorical
emphasis on the wordplay; that it's not so much about the city in which all of
these characters collide with one another, but more about the way these
collisions change them. Each and every character has a story, and the
deeper we delve into their ghosts, the further they seem to fall.
I am a minor. Is this okay for me to read?
This comic is intended for those in their mid to late teens, and adults. But
generally speaking, if you have to ask this question, I'd probably be more
inclined to say no. There are some very strong concepts contained herein and
those who find themselves of a more delicate persuasion will more than likely
be offended by the messages we convey. That being said, I implore our gentle
readers to tread with caution. <3
